How do I know if a pine at the lake is leaning dangerously?
Look at the base. Fresh cracks or heaving soil on the side away from the lean, a trunk that leans more than it did last season, and roots pulling up on one side are the warning signs. A pine over the dock or the roof with any of those should be looked at before the next storm.
