Stump Grinding in Central, SC and the Upstate

Stump Grinding in Central, SC and the Upstate

Whether you have a stump you would like to have ground down or would like this service added on to a tree removal, we have the capabilities.

Why grind it

Grinding eliminates any tripping hazards and doesn't allow a habitat for termites, ants, bees, snakes, and other animals. Grinding versus a full removal doesn't require extra fill dirt and is a less harsh option for your landscaping.

Think long term when having a tree removed. Will you be doing some sort of landscaping in the area? Will it create a dangerous situation for anyone in your family? Or maybe you just don't want the eyesore? We can fix it!

Why grind it

What you get

We grind the stump below grade so the area can be seeded, sodded or replanted, and we grind the surface roots where needed. The grindings can stay as mulch or we can haul them off, whichever you prefer. Tell us at the estimate what you plan to do with the spot and we will grind to suit it.

Questions people ask

How deep do you grind?

Below ground level, deep enough to seed or sod over. If you plan to plant a new tree or dig footings in the same spot, say so and we will go deeper.

What happens to the grindings?

Your choice. Left in place they settle into mulch. If you want a clean spot, we haul them off and you can top with dirt and seed.

Can you grind a stump if you didn't remove the tree?

Yes. Stump grinding is a service on its own. Send us a photo or the address and we can usually price it without a visit.

Do you grind stumps as part of a tree removal?

Yes. It is an add-on to any removal, and it is easiest to do while the equipment is already on site.
